Herne Hill Town House
Harford House came on board to tweak a sitting room that had been initially completed by another designer. I retained the majority of the client’s larger pieces of furniture but added new cushions with Susan Deliss and Soane materials, and introduced a Colefax braid down the edge of the plain curtains. The room was re-painted in Edward Bulmer mineral paint and the wooden coffee table was replaced with an ottoman upholstered in Thibaut performance material to make the space feel cosier and more toddler-learning-to-walk friendly! The dining room also needed just a few finishing touches, so we added new wall lights, a large piece of vintage art and three oval-framed pressed flowers.
New wall colour chosen by Carina to bring the existing elements into harmony
New custom ottoman in performance fabric - perfect for storage and for toddlers to hold on to!
Custom cushions to bring in the colours from the rest of the space
The painting was sourced from a vintage dealer
New wall lights and art brought the space together
Proposed scheme
“I’ve been obsessing about how to make our living room feel lovely for two years, trying different things and never getting there... until Carina came on board. What a relief! She quickly figured out all the things that were worth keeping, and explained the few key things to change to transform the room. She’s great to work with... lovely, organised, picks the most divine fabrics, open to feedback, tweaking the colour scheme to hit my joy spot. I feel so happy about the room now! Thanks very much Carina”
